Golden State Warriors star point guard Steph Curry suffered a Grade 1 left hamstring strain in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He missed Games 2 and 3 and is expected to miss Game 4 as well.

The Warriors won Game 1 in Minnesota but lost Games 2 and 3. They are down 2-1 in the best-of-seven series and no longer have home-court advantage.

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Curry had a strenuous workout before Game 3 on Saturday. However, the two-time MVP and four-time champion wasn't at full speed.

"Curry went through a pretty strenuous workout on the team’s practice court in the dungeons of Chase Center," Slater wrote. "It was the clearest initial step in what Curry hopes to be an expedited return from the hamstring strain that has come to define this second-round series against the Timberwolves.

"Curry didn’t push it to full speed, according to a team source. He’s yet to burst or cut or test that left hamstring in a manner that’ll deliver him and Rick Celebrini — the team’s lead medical decision maker — the true information they’ll need on whether the hamstring is healed enough to return deeper in this series. But he went through a medium-speed shooting routine and rode the stationary bike. This was a notable advancement for Curry in his race against time."

This is the first time in Curry's career that he has dealt with a hamstring injury. The future Hall of Famer is 37 years old.

Curry is averaging 22.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists in the 2025 playoffs while shooting 47.7 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from 3 and 89.3 percent from the free-throw line. The Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets in the first round in seven games.

Game 4 between the Warriors and Timberwolves is at 10 p.m. ET Monday and will be televised on ESPN.
