The Detroit Pistons enter free agency with some major decisions to make regarding multiple key players on their roster.
Detroit already re-signed Paul Reed to a new two-year contract but both Tim Hardaway Jr and Malik Beasley are currently unrestricted free agents.
While the Pistons have reportedly shown interest in bringing both players back, that may not be the case, especially with a recent report coming out about Beasley.
On Sunday, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the U.S. District Attorney’s office is investigating Beasley on allegations of gambling related to NBA games and prop bets.

Because of this report, the Pistons may elect to let Beasley walk in free agency if any other team wants to take a chance on him after these serious allegations.
While the Pistons have that decision to make, they made another move in free agency on Monday evening as they signed Caris LeVert to a two-year, $29 million deal.

The 30-year-old forward spent time with the Cleveland Cavaliers last season before they sent him to the Atlanta Hawks at the trade deadline in the deal that sent De’Andre Hunter to Cleveland.
LeVert finished the season averaging 12.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 46.7% from the field and 37.3% from three-point range.
With this signing, the Pistons add a reliable scorer that could either start next to Cade Cunningham in the backcourt or come off the bench in the role previously held by Beasley if they decide to let him leave in free agency.
Either way, LeVert is a great addition to their roster as he brings more veteran experience to a young team that is fresh off ending their playoff drought.
While this was a solid move for the Pistons, expect them to continue to be active this summer as they try to upgrade their roster and compete for a title next season.
