The Detroit Pistons are coming off one of their best seasons in 15-plus seasons.

After finishing last place in the Eastern Conference a season ago, the Pistons improved by an astounding 30 wins to clinch an outright berth in the NBA Playoffs.

While the Pistons fell to the New York Knicks in six games, that series marked the first time since 2008 the Pistons won a playoff game.

Detroit Pistons expected to pursue Cavaliers guard

While the Pistons enjoyed success this season, they'll have to be savvy in the offseason to make sure this wasn't just a comet streaking across the sky and they return to what they had been the decade before.

Detroit will have ample opportunity to make moves. Cade Cunningham likely earned some respect and admiration from players around the league, so it's not out of the question that guys will want to play with him.

According to Sam Amico, a senior NBA writer for Hoops Wire, the Pistons are expected to show interest in Ty Jerome.

While Jerome will be 28 years old by the start of next season, he took a huge jump with the Cleveland Cavaliers this season.

He averaged 12.5 points per game while shooting a career-high 43.9% from beyond the arc. He also showed the ability to facilitate the offense at times.

There will be minutes to fill in Detroit, as Tim Hardaway Jr., Malik Beasley, and Dennis Schroder are set to become free agents.

Jaden Ivey will return from the injury and fit back in seamlessly.
