Devin Booker Named 'Dream Trade Target' For Rising East Team

It was another disappointing season for the Phoenix Suns and they now face an interesting offseason ahead of them.

Of course, the Suns finished the season with an abysmal 36-46 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2019-20 campaign.

Now the Suns have some crucial decisions to make regarding their roster, especially the situation regarding their superstar trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.

There have been many reports that have said the Suns will look to move on from both Durant and Beal this summer to build around Booker for the future.

Despite this, Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz named Booker as a dream offseason trade target for the up-and-coming Detroit Pistons.

“Now is the time for the Detroit Pistons to be aggressive, especially with the majority of its roster still on their rookie contracts,” Swartz wrote. “Booker, a Grand Rapids, Michigan native, would jump-start an offense that ranked just 14th this season and create a dynamic backcourt alongside Cade Cunningham. Booker averaged 25.6 points and 7.1 assists this season and is still only 28 despite coming off his 10th year in the league.”

There is no doubt that the Pistons are in position to be aggressive this offseason thanks to their large amount of cap space and adding Booker next to Cunningham in the backcourt would make them one of the best backcourts in the NBA.

It would also help improve Detroit’s offense, which was one of their main weaknesses this season outside of Cunningham and with how they played in the playoffs, Booker could turn the Pistons into a title contender next season.

Despite this, the Suns may not be willing to move on from their star guard this offseason as they try to retool their roster around Booker and return to their winning ways as quickly as possible.
