The Phoenix Suns defeated the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers 113-100 in a series-clinching Game 6 on Thursday.
After the game, Suns star Devin Booker took to Twitter to pay homage to Kobe Bryant, his late mentor and Lakers legend.

Those words were Bryant's advice to Booker when they first met. Since then, Booker has lived up to the challenge. He has improved his game every season and was a big reason why the Suns won their first-round series.
Booker exploded for a playoff career-high 47 points in Game 6 to go along with 11 rebounds and three assists. He joined Suns legend Charles Barkley as the only players in team history to score at least 45 points and grab at least 10 rebounds in a postseason game.
Booker's Game 6 performance also earned him some high praise from LeBron James, who gifted him with a signed jersey after the series finale.
"Continue to be great," James wrote.

Booker will use those words of inspiration in the next round when the Suns take on Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. Game 1 between the two sides is set for Monday.
