Devin Booker Rewarded Flagstaff High School Basketball Players with His Signature Shoe

Devin Booker has a profound love affair with Arizona, a state he has called home since 2015. He spends some time in Flagstaff, 119 miles north of Phoenix, in the offseason. It’s his way to reflect after a busy season and prepare for the upcoming basketball battles.

Therefore, it isn’t surprising when the four-time NBA All-Star came up with a design of his Nike Book 1 signature shoe to pay tribute to Flagstaff. Likewise, what better way to give back to the community than by gifting Flagstaff High School basketball players and coaches that shoe?

Devin Booker rewarded the Eagles’ boys and girls basketball teams with pairs of Nike Book 1 Flagstaff during their recent visit to the Footprint Center. Here’s a short clip of the interaction between Booker and the Flagstaff high school basketball players.

Nike released Book 1 “Flagstaff” on February 1, a month after launching the Book 1 Sedona. The Flagstaff’s dominant Fir color represents the ponderosa forest pines that dominate the area. Meanwhile, the tongue shows the word “Book” and a replica of the San Francisco Peaks. The inner tongue pays homage to Humphrey’s Peak, Flagstaff’s highest point.

The heels also show the words “Flagstaff” and “No Service,” a nod to its remoteness. Finally, the Hemp-colored outsole completes the shoe’s earthly look. Except for the aesthetics, Book 1 “Flagstaff” has the same base technical features as its predecessors.

Booker’s gifts could motivate the Flagstaff boys basketball team which went 14-13 this season. Meanwhile, their girls basketball counterparts have done better at 22-7 and participated in Arizona’s Open State Championship tournament.

Devin Booker has another All-Star season in the books after averaging 26.2 points, 6.8 assists, and four rebounds per game. In addition to his fourth All-Star appearance, he also earned All-NBA Third Team honors last season after averaging 27.1 points, 6.9 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game. The Phoenix Suns’s first-round pick in the 2015 draft was also an All-NBA First Team member in 2022.
