Booker has spent his entire career with the Suns. He was the 13th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Kentucky.
One of the best scorers in the NBA, Booker played in 75 games last season. He averaged 25.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 7.1 assists while shooting 46.1% from the field, 33.2% from beyond the arc and 89.4% from the free-throw line.
A four-time All-Star, Booker has scored the most points in Phoenix franchise history. He has career averages of 24.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists.
Since getting drafted by the Suns, Booker has played for Jeff Hornacek, Earl Watson, Jay Triano, Igor Kokoskov, Monty Williams, Frank Vogel and Mike Budenholzer.
The Suns lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2021 NBA Finals. Since then, Phoenix has lost in the second round of the 2022 playoffs, the second round of the 2023 playoffs and the first round of the 2024 playoffs.
Despite having Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, the Suns missed the playoffs last season. Budenholzer, like Vogel, was fired as head coach after one year.
Budenholzer was replaced by Cleveland Cavaliers assistant Jordan Ott.
The Suns traded Durant to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and six draft picks. Beal and Phoenix are expected to agree to a buyout soon. After that happens, Beal is expected to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers.
