The Phoenix Suns had their 2025 media day on Wednesday, and Devin Booker had a lot of promising things to say about the upcoming season.
During the Suns media day Q&A, Devin Booker touched on numerous subjects, though he first spoke about his opinions on his role at point guard and Jalen Green’s presence at the position as well. Booker recognized that it’ll start with his and Jalen Green’s ability to score and attack the rim. With them in the position, they will be able to play faster and kick the ball ahead more, which will allow them to open everybody else up.
With the departure of Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, Devin Booker spoke on how his voice and leadership will play a role this season. “I’m trying to keep it in house”, Booker mentioned when he spoke on dealing with outside noise. Realizing the youth of this team, he knows he will play a part in their development. Helping them minimize the mistakes they make and avoid repeating them will be a huge part of where Booker’s leadership will come into play.
Booker also spoke about his recent contract extension and how he realizes that it’s a partnership and a trust with the front office. Noticing how it’s a business and players are moving around a lot, having stability in that aspect is rare in this league. Booker recognizes that as well when he spoke on how much he understands that Phoenix takes its basketball seriously, and how the city feels about him. It’s a new era for the Phoenix Suns, but they still have their face of the franchise there to lead them on their way.
