With Devin Booker sidelined due to injury, the hopes were for Dillon Brooks to carry the scoring load for the Phoenix Suns. Unfortunately, the team's second-leading scorer also suffered a health setback the same day Booker's injury was announced.

On Saturday, prior to the Suns' game against the Orlando Magic, Phoenix revealed that Booker will be out for at least a week due to a right hip strain he sustained during Thursday's game against the San Antonio Spurs.

Booker leads the team in scoring, averaging 24.7 points on 45.4% shooting, along with 3.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists. That being said, his absence is certainly a brutal blow for a team that is in contention for a playoff spot in the West.

"If he could play, he'd play," Suns coach Jordan Ott said about Booker's injury, per Duane Rankin of AZ Central. "We just don't think it's too major. That's why it's re-evaluated in a week."

Now, in a brutal turn of events for the Suns, Brooks broke his left hand against the Magic. He played in just seven minutes and recorded five points and three rebounds before exiting the contest.

Shams Charania of ESPN reported that Brooks will be sidelined indefinitely until doctors determine a specific timetable for his recovery.

"Phoenix Suns guard Dillon Brooks has sustained a broken left hand and will be sidelined, sources tell ESPN," Charania wrote.

Brooks was playing in his first game back following a suspension after reaching 16 technical fouls. Now, it's unknown how long he'll need before he can return to action.

The Suns were still able to beat the Magic, 113-110, despite Brooks' early exit. They improved to 33-24 on the season with the victory, placing them at No. 7 in the West standings. However, they now face a big question on how they'll replace the production of their two best players.

Entering Saturday's showdown, Brooks was averaging 21.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals.

Phoenix fans can only hope now that Booker will be able to return sooner rather than later. In the meantime, they will need Jalen Green, Grayson Allen, Collin Gillespie and Mark Williams to step up in leading the team.

Jordan Goodwin, Ryan Dunn, Royce O'Neals, among others, are also expected to have increased roles while they await for the return of Booker and Brooks.

The Suns play again on Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers. After that, they face the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers in the upcoming week.
