It did not take long for Dillon Brooks to show off his aggressive brand of defense to his new team. The Houston Rockets forward went overboard during the team’s first preseason contest on Tuesday night.

Brooks was ejected following a defensive sequence against Pacers big man Daniel Theis. The German center set a pick on Brooks, who fought over the screen and struck Theis below the belt in the process.

The former Memphis Grizzlies veteran was issued a Flagrant 2, which resulted in an automatic ejection.

Brooks was scoreless in just five minutes of preseason action.

Brooks is no stranger to such extra-curricular incidents. He finished second in the NBA in technical fouls last season with 18. Only Draymond Green finished ahead of Brooks with 21. Brooks has been ejected six times throughout his NBA career.

The 27-year-old signed a massive four-year contract during the offseason as part of a sign-and-trade that sent him to the Rockets.

Houston is looking to newly-acquired veterans Brooks and Fred VanVleet to help bring the Rockets to the next stage of their rebuild.
