The Milwaukee Bucks seem happy with their current pairing with Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future with the Milwaukee Bucks has become a recurring topic of discussion in the NBA community.
Even with Antetokounmpo touted to demand a trade soon, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers is focused on putting the best possible lineup around the 2x NBA MVP.
In an effort to do so, the Bucks signed Myles Turner this offseason, and the veteran center has already left an amazing impression on Rivers.
The Bucks are off to a 3-0 start in the NBA preseason following their most recent win against the Chicago Bulls.
Since Turner’s preseason debut, the former Indiana Pacers star has only gotten more comfortable in Milwaukee.
That was evident from what coach Rivers said of Turner’s performance in the Bucks’ 127-121 win over the Chicago Bulls.
“I’m telling you, Myles is so good for this team, all the little things, the passes, the voice, his ability to shoot,” Rivers told the media.
He added: “He made the one moving three that we were talking about off the screen, that’s hard to guard. We just keep learning it any getting better at it.”
Turner contributed 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 assist in the six-point win over the Bulls. But more importantly, it was the first time that he shared the court with the Greek Freak.
Being in the prime of his NBA career, Antetokounmpo has made his wish to win another championship clear. Evidently, the Bucks need a solid supporting cast around him to make that a reality.
Well, according to coach Rivers, there’s no player who fits better with Giannis than Turner.
“He’s just a smart player, you don’t know that until you have a guy, he’s great for this team,” Rivers continued.
He concluded, stating: “We were talking after, I couldn’t have thought of a better person that fits Giannis, he’s good for us.”
Bucks fans will hope Rivers is correct about Turner. Otherwise, they could lose their franchise cornerstone star sooner rather than later.
