This space aims to identify players who represent good value for recording a double-double in a particular game. If they post double-digit totals in any two of the five main categories (points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals), backers will at least double their money – and sometimes make much more than that.
The bet: A double-double for Knicks center Mitchell Robinson (+390 DraftKings)
A former five-star recruit, Robinson enrolled at Western Kentucky but never played a game before deciding to focus on preparing for the 2018 NBA draft. He has progressively increased his rebounding average during his five years with the Knicks, climbing to 9.4 per game this season.
Robinson concluded the regular season with rebound totals of 14, 11, 16, and 20. He registered a pair of double-doubles and missed two more by a combined three points. He averaged a league-leading 23 rebound chances over that span, and the last two games also saw him record seven blocks in each.
Saturday’s 101-97 road win against the Cavaliers was the first career playoff appearance for Robinson. He finished with eight boards – five of them coming on the offensive glass – but had 10 other chances. Since top reserve Josh Hart is questionable for Game 2 with a sprained ankle, Robinson figures to get a minutes boost as he chases down his next double-double.
