Draymond Green Calls Out Doc Rivers: 'You Knew What You Were Getting Into...'
Petre Thomas-USA TODAY Sports

Speaking on the "Draymond Green Show," the Warriors star opened up on the Doc Rivers/JJ Redick beef that has taken the internet by storm. Draymond sided with Redick in this debate, and he laid out all the reasons why in a short and revealing segment:

"I agree with JJ, " said Draymond. "Every interview, it's another excuse. You knew what you were getting yourself into because you were actually brought in to fix those very things. I totally understand where JJ was coming from. Pat Bev understood where JJ was coming from, and Austin Rivers understood where JJ was coming from... they never attacked what JJ said, they only attacked his playing career."

Doc Rivers went viral this week after being called out by his former player, JJ Redick. Redick, who was being featured on ESPN, ripped his former coach for a lack of accountability and a failure to take responsibility for his role in the Bucks' ongoing struggles. According to JJ, Doc can't help but throw his team under the bus when the going gets tough and always has an excuse for when his team fails to reach expectations.

Redick's comments promoted a response from many fans and analysts, and even former players got involved. In the hours after that viral clip, both Patrick Beverley and Austin Rivers came to Doc's defense and it led to an intense back-and-forth encounter on social media.

Draymond Green is just the latest player to ally himself with JJ Redick, and it's a bad omen for the Bucks who are still trying to find their way after firing their previous coach. Either way, it's too late for the Bucks to turn back on Rivers now, and they have no choice but to proceed and hope for the best with who they've got.

Doc Rivers Is Off To A Rocky Start With The New-Look Bucks

There is no arguing that Doc Rivers is one of the most revered and widely respected coaches in basketball history. While he's only got one championship to his name, Rivers has 25 years of coaching experience and has built up countless relationships across the league.

So when the Bucks needed a quick replacement for Adrian Griffin, it's no wonder why they were quick to settle on Doc, who was already working for them as a basketball advisor. In a matter of days, the Bucks had tapped him as their new coach and there was strong optimism that they would finally unlock their potential.

Instead, the situation has devolved into chaos and Rivers is at the center of it all. From day one, Rivers did his best to manage expectations as told the fans that he wouldn't wish his position on "anyone." A few weeks later, Rivers made headlines again after blasting his own players to the media, saying that some guys were in "Cabo" during the game.

The wildest quote of all came just a few days ago when Rivers admitted to the public that he did "not understand" why the Bucks fired Adrian Griffin in the first place. All of those comments have come amid a concerning stretch for the team -- and with no answers in sight, the pressure is mounting for them to figure it out and stop the bleeding before it's too late.
