Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors weren’t able to put up much of a fight on Tuesday night as they battled the defending champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, in a road game at Paycom Center. Steph Curry returned from a three-game absence due to illness, but not even his comeback was enough to carry the Warriors to victory.
Reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the charge for OKC with a game-high 28 points, five rebounds and 11 assists. Green, on the other hand, had a quiet outing in the loss, with just three points, two rebounds, four assists, a steal and one three-pointer in 22 minutes of action.
The Warriors were blown out, 126-102, marking their sixth straight road loss.
Golden State came into Tuesday’s game after a dominant 114-83 win over a shorthanded Indiana Pacers side on Sunday. The Warriors, however, lost two in a row before the Pacers game, both of which came on the road.
Golden State’s troubles away from home continued on Tuesday night in Oklahoma. They’ve played seven games on the road so far this season. They won against the Los Angeles Lakers on opening night at Crypto.com Arena, but they have since lost all six of their road games.
Green spoke to reporters after the game and was asked to share his thoughts on his team’s latest loss. When questioned about what he feels is different from the Warriors’ mindset last season, the former Defensive Player of the Year got brutally honest with his response.
“I think everyone was committed to winning [after the Jimmy Butler trade last season] and doing that any way possible,” Green said. “Right now, it doesn’t feel that way.”
Green was then asked if he feels that personal agendas have played a factor in their recent slump. This led to the four-time All-Star calling out his Warriors teammates.
“I think everyone has a personal agenda in this league, but you have to make the personal agenda work in the team confines,” he said. “And if it doesn’t work, then you kind of got to get rid of your agenda or eventually the agenda is the cause of someone getting rid of you.”

Green did not name any names, but the 35-year-old made his feelings about the matter abundantly clear.
The silver lining for the Warriors is that they will get a chance to make things right on Wednesday. They’re on the road again as they face Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs on the second night of a back-to-back set. That will be the second contest of Golden State’s current six-game road trip.
It is worth noting that Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said before Tuesday’s game that Green could potentially sit out Wednesday’s matchup in San Antonio for rest purposes. The nine-time All-Defensive forward has missed just one game for Golden State this season, but he could be out for a second time on Wednesday night.
