It is not a secret that Golden State Warriors star power forward Draymond Green was among those linked to what was a potential trade involving Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Although no such trade materialized and Antetokounmpo ended up staying with the Bucks past the 2026 NBA trade deadline, Green revisited the trade talks and shared his honest thoughts.
“I understand this business probably [as] good as any player,” Green told Anthony Slater of ESPN. “I understand like, yo, this is Giannis Antetokounmpo. They not just about to trade me for a bag of peanuts. It would’ve almost been a point of pride.”
At the same time, the four-time NBA champion Green bluntly said that he had no desire to play for the Bucks.
“I’ll be honest though. I didn’t want to play for Milwaukee.”
That can be viewed as a fair take from Green, who is on the back-nine of his NBA career. If he was going to be traded, he would love it to be where he’s more comfortable with, and Milwaukee just seemingly does not check enough boxes for the former NBA Defensive Player of the Year.
