This offseason, the Golden State Warriors are expected to add as much talent to the roster as possible to maximize their title window with Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green.
After trading for Butler, the Warriors looked like one of the best teams in the NBA, although an injury to Curry in the second round didn't help them as they lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Warriors have been linked to players like Nikola Vucevic, Brook Lopez, Cam Johnson, Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, and Derrick White in an effort to win a title next season, although Giannis Antetokounmpo is the best player included in trade rumors, and the Warriors, like everyone else, have their eye on him.
Giannis is an MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and NBA champion. He is one of the best players alive and has already cemented himself as an all-time great, although Green doesn't think he's the best power forward to ever play the game, when asked on his podcast by Baron Davis.
“I’m going to disagree,” Green said. “And the reason I disagree is this. Giannis has played in an era where it kind of became positionless basketball. And I don’t necessarily think that Giannis is a power forward and has been [during his career]. And that’s why I disagree with that."
Green, as well, doesn't really play a defined position, although he had to go up against power forwards like Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Garnett, and Tim Duncan, all in their prime.
Still, one would expect Green to shower a possible teammate with as much praise as possible.
“Because Giannis is one of the greatest players of this era, and the game was kind of positionless," he continued. "What made people start calling Giannis a power forward is because you had to start putting power forwards in the center [position] on Giannis [to guard him].”
Of course, in a deal for Giannis, the Warriors might have to include Green in a deal, so he might be trying to downplay the Greek Freak's impact.
