Draymond Green Issues Julius Randle Warning After Wolves End Warriors' Season

Few NBA players have changed their reputation more in this year's postseason than Minnesota Timberwolves forward Julius Randle.

Despite earning three All-Star nods with the New York Knicks, Randle struggled to bring the Knicks further than the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. His 17.1 points per game in the postseason with New York paled in comparison to his 24-plus points per game he averaged every year as an All-Star.

Randle was subject to the same scrutiny entering this year's postseason with the Timberwolves.

However, as defenses continue to focus on Anthony Edwards as the first option, Randle has stepped up immensely.

After Randle averaged 25.2 points per game in the Wolves' five-game series victory over the Golden State Warriors, Draymond Green issued the NBA a warning about Randle, who was a catalyst to the Wolves' postseason success so far.

"Any time you got a No. 2 that can just go get it, you give yourself a chance to go make it happen and get a ring," Green said. "The way Julius been playing, he been lights out. I have no doubt he'll continue to play that way.

He's aggressive as hell. He gon' go after it. He got that mindset -- always have had that mindset -- and it's clicking for him."

Widely known as one of the league's greatest antagonists, Green showered praise for the entire Timberwolves roster.

"I think they got a real shot," Green added. "They got all the pieces: Naz [Reid] coming off the bench; Jaden McDaniels is a helluva young player; Rudy [Gobert], four-time Defensive Player of the Year; Mike Conley and his experience; Donte [DiVincenzo] flying around, defending and shooting. They got pieces, they got a real team."

Returning to the Western Conference Finals, the Wolves face the winner of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets series. The Thunder hold a 3-2 lead entering Game 6 on Thursday, May 15.
