Draymond Green jokes about his cravings for Flamin’ Hot Cheetos
Neville E. Guard-USA TODAY Sports

Draymond Green apparently has something of an addiction to Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, and the Golden State Warriors star admits that it stinks he has to deprive himself of his favorite junk food.

Speaking with Sam Alipour of ESPN for the latest edition of “Hang Time,” Green opened up about how Flamin’ Hot Cheetos take their toll so he has no choice but to avoid overindulging in the snack.

“It’s depressing, but Flamin’ Hot Cheetos just don’t work for me, body-wise,” Green told Alipour. “However, I can eat them one day a week. I’m going to give myself cheat days. [In the past] I would have a cheat month.”

Green also admitted that he has to battle poor eating habits, which may have complicated matters ahead of last season when attempting to return to health following an injury.

“I was hurt in training camp. A month into the [2018-19] regular season, I went down with a toe injury.,” Green said. “For the rest of the year, I was playing catch-up. I started to put on weight, which in turn affected my game. I wasn’t as fast. My shot wasn’t as good, and things just weren’t as fluid. I couldn’t lift up.”

As far as Green’s overall health is concerned, it’s probably wise for him to avoid eating too many Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. It is indeed amusing how he shares how used to enjoy a “cheat month,” which clearly wasn’t working out for him.

The transition to a “cheat day” once per week, though, is definitely a good call by Green, although given the nightmarish season the Warriors are likely to endure, the lure of his favorite spicy snack may prove all too alluring.
