Draymond Green Loses Cool and Chases Down Victor Wembanyama After No-Call Sparks Tension

It’s quite understandable if frustration is quickly boiling amongst the Golden State Warriors. Steve Kerr is already skeptical about Stephen Curry’s return. Jimmy Butler is out, perhaps for a year. That leaves Draymond Green as the only healthy all-star caliber player on the team.

Sadly, despite his declining basketball skills, the Dubs have no choice but to ask for Draymond Green to produce. Well, maybe a bit too much so that it often results in a lowlight instead of a highlight. For instance, when he drove by Spurs big man Victor Wembanyama on the court, he lost it when the refs did not call a foul.

Flabbergasted by the no-call, he immediately chased Wemby, grabbed his jersey to stop the play, and complained to the officials.

By looking at the play, it seems that Wembanyama might have hit Green. However, it was marginal at best, and the refs rightfully swallowed their whistles on that particular play. That type of complaining usually draws some techs from officials, but hey, it’s Draymond Green. He gets a longer leash from situations like these.

Draymond Green Previously Sang High Praises For Victor Wembanyama

While Draymond was unapologetic about the no-call on Wemby, there’s no doubt that he’s been an admirer of the latter’s game. He even went on to describe what it’s like playing on the same court with the Spurs superstar.

“Wemby is this otherworldly thing, man. Like, I’m not even going to say otherworldly person, he is just this otherworldly thing, and everything that he does is going to take you like four people to do. Like, he is that special of a player,” Draymond Green on Wembanyama.

This season, Victor Wembanyama has shot up in the MVP ladder. If Green had a vote, his comments suggest that he might give it to the young French phenom.
