Draymond Green makes decision on Warriors future

After some speculation that he would be following LeBron James in free agency, Draymond Green has made his decision, and that decision is to return to a familiar place.

Draymond Green returning to Warriors

According to ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania, Green and the Golden State Warriors are in agreement on Green returning on a one-year, $27.7 million deal for the upcoming season.

Earlier in the offseason, Green declined a player option in hopes of Golden State landing the aforementioned James.

That ultimately didn't work out, opening the door for Green to return to the Warriors for his 15th NBA season.

Could this be the final run for the Golden State core?

Stephen Curry is 38 and will be 39 before the next season ends. Green is 36 and will turn 37 before the end of next season. Head coach Steve Kerr and his future in Golden State are unknown.

The upcoming season could be the last time that Curry and Green are teammates with Kerr as their head coach, as has been the case since May 14, 2014, when Kerr was hired as Warriors head coach. Curry, Green and Kerr are major parts of one of the all-time dynasties in NBA history and will forever be etched in franchise history for their dominance and consistency from 2015-22.
