Draymond Green names Suns as best team in NBA

Draymond Green is one of the most versatile and successful players of his generation. As such, he is uniquely qualified to offer a perspective on who the NBA’s best stars and teams are. This week, Green did precisely that.

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated's "The Spun," Green offered his thoughts on the best team in the NBA right now.

“They’ve been the best team in the league this year. Teams are facing injuries and dealing with COVID, but guess what other team is going through that?” Green said. “The Phoenix Suns. "They’ve been the best team from the start of the season until now. I’d absolutely love to play against those guys. In order to be the best, you got to beat the best.

“I’m not saying you have to go through the Phoenix Suns to win a championship because the defending champions are the Milwaukee Bucks. But the Suns have looked the best from an eye test perspective. So you definitely relish the opportunity to play against those guys in the playoffs.”

The No. 1 ranked Suns and No. 3 ranked Warriors seem to be destined for a collision in the playoffs although teams like the Grizzlies, Mavericks,  Jazz and Nuggets will have something to say about it. We'll have to wait and see if Green gets the opportunity to battle the Suns that he hopes for.
