Draymond Green Reacts to Warriors Rumor Amid Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade Talks

Thursday's NBA trade deadline is rapidly approaching, and one of the biggest dominoes that has yet to fall is that of Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The 10-time NBA All-Star has been with the Bucks for the entirety of his 13-year career, but appears to be open to a change of scenery after the team's decline over the past few seasons. After winning the title in 2020-21, the Bucks have escaped the first round just once. To make matters worse, the Bucks are on track to miss the playoffs this season as they sit with a 18-29 record.

With Antetokounmpo looking for a new place to call home, one of the teams that he has frequently been linked to is the Golden State Warriors. With the team's championship window closing, the team is expected to make a splashy move that can would allow them to be contenders again.

With Antetokounmpo's cap hit around $55 million, the Warriors would have to part with a fan favorite like Jimmy Butler or long-time forward Draymond Green, who was a part of the team's big three during their four championships.

Despite being viewed as a trade piece, an account online suggested that there's an avenue to get traded away from the Warriors for Antetokounmpo, only to return next season as a free agent.

"REPORT: Draymond Green is down for a Giannis Antetokounmpo trade IF it means he can then return to the Warriors as a free agent this upcoming summer," alleged the post on Threads.

A conspiracy that Green didn't seem too fond of.

"who’s the source?," asked Green in the comment section.

While this would be the ultimate chess, not checkers move, it's hard to imagine the Bucks would willingly make a trade like this with that possibility unless they received tremendous compensation as a result. Needless to say, all eyes will be on Antetokounmpo's future this week.
