As Jonathan Kuminga is set to return from injury, it leaves Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green wondering how Kuminga and Jimmy Butler will fit together.
Neither guy is a great outside shooter. In a lineup that could see Green, Butler, and Kuminga on the floor together, with none able to consistently shoot from 3, that could put a lot of attention on Stephen Curry.
While the latter talked about having easier looks thanks to Butler, putting Kuminga in the lineup might revert to old ways. Regardless, Green talked on his podcast about the fit with the two forwards.
“I don’t know,” Green said. “What I do know is Jimmy knows how to play with anybody, and JK has a lot of talent and Jimmy will figure out how to use that talent to the advantage of this team and we will figure that out.
“So I don’t know how well they’ll fit. I do know at some point they will make it work. But JK, we’re looking forward to getting him back.”

Kuminga has been out for the past 31 games with a right ankle sprain. While he’s been out, his team made some blockbuster deals. For instance, the Warriors traded for Butler before the NBA trade deadline.
As a result, the team looks different in a positive way. There’s more balance, but a newfound toughness within the team as well. Curry has been able to play off of Butler, rather effortlessly.
Still, Butler and Kuminga have similar skill sets. Both are slashers, getting into the teeth of the defense. Not to mention, both are solid defenders on the perimeter.
With Kuminga’s contract coming up, it’s worth noting how he and Butler will mesh.
A few weeks ago, Warriors owner Joe Lacob said he plans on matching offers for Kuminga when he becomes a restricted free agent this summer. However, the Butler trade and extension could factor into the Kuminga decision.
At the end of the day, both Kuminga and Butler nearly have the same skill set. It could make matters more interesting for how head coach Steve Kerr decides to use them.
Either way, the Warriors will hope to keep their momentum riding high into this week. With Kuminga set to come back, it has Green’s full support and excitement.
Figuring out the fit with the two forwards will be crucial moving forward, as the playoffs approach.

Boston Celtics Announce Trade For 22-Year-Old Guard
RJ Luis Jr. played his college basketball at Massachusetts and St John's. He finished last year with averages of 18.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 43.9% from the field and 33.6% from the three-point range in 35 games. Via Jake Fischer of The Stein Line: "The two second-round picks Boston is sending Utah as part of the Georges Niang-for-RJ Luis Jr. trade are the 2027 most favorable between the Celtics/Magic, and the 2031 most favorable between the Celtics/Cavaliers, per source." While Luis Jr. is an intriguing prospect, the Celtics made the move to get off of Niang's contract. Via Yossi Gozlan of Third Apron Podcast: "The Boston Celtics reduce their payroll and luxury tax by a total of $50 million by trading Georges Niang. They’re now just $1.7 million above the first apron and $9.4 million above the luxury tax line. They also create a $8.2 million trade exception." The Celtics won the 2024 NBA Championship over the Dallas Mavericks. They then lost to Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks in the second round of the 2025 NBA playoffs (in six games).
Rory McIlroy's controversial decision leaves PGA Tour 'very concerned'
Seventy players qualified for the first round of the playoffs at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis, but only 69 will tee it up at TPC Southwind this week. That's because Rory McIlroy, who ranks second in the FedEx Cup standings behind only Scottie Scheffler, is skipping the first playoff event to prepare for the BMW Championship and Tour Championship. The PGA Tour isn't thrilled with his contentious decision. Peter Malnati, a PGA Tour pro and player director on the PGA Tour Policy Board, told Golfweek he's "very concerned" the new playoff format allows top players in the standings to skip playoff events. "I think there is stuff in the works, and I'll leave it at that," he said. The PGA Tour must make changes because McIlroy won't face any repercussions for skipping the FedEx St. Jude Championship. As the No. 2 player in the FedEx Cup standings entering the postseason, McIlroy is guaranteed to qualify for the Tour Championship. Before this year, he would've been incentivized to improve his spot in the standings because of the advantage the starting strokes format gave the No. 1 player. That's no longer the case. This year, the Tour Championship will operate like every other tournament on the PGA Tour schedule. There will be no starting strokes advantage for the top players, so every player from No. 1 to No. 30 will have an equal chance to win the $10 million prize. It doesn't matter where McIlroy resides in the standings. It just matters that he makes it to East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, and he's already locked up his spot in the season finale. Why spend a week in scorching-hot Memphis when you could stay home and prepare for the tournament that actually matters, right? The new playoff format will make the Tour Championship more entertaining for fans, but it renders the other two playoff events irrelevant for the PGA Tour's top players. The Tour must make playoff events mandatory to prevent other stars from following McIlroy's lead.
Jalen Milroe Surges Past Former NFL Starter on First Seattle Seahawks Depth Chart
Despite being viewed as a potential first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe ended up sliding into the third round. The 22-year-old who was the starter for Alabama for two seasons was selected with the No. 92 pick by the Seattle Seahawks. Although every player's dream is to go in the first round, Milroe likely couldn't have gone to a better situation. There is virtually no pressure on him as the Seahawks signed former Minnesota Vikings quarterback, Sam Darnold, to a three-year, $100.5 million contract this offseason, and also have Drew Lock, who has started 28 career games on the roster as well. However, based on ESPN's initial depth chart, Milroe may be climbing the depth chart sooner than most expected. During his final year in Tuscaloosa, Milroe was criticized heavily for forcing passes into windows that weren't there after being late on reads. In his final season at Alabama, Milroe threw a career-high 11 interceptions to just 16 touchdowns, an increase of five more interceptions than he threw in 2023. Although training camp is still ongoing and the preseason games have yet to be played, clearly, Milroe is finding some success in the pacific northwest.

Selected in the fourth round (132nd overall) of the 2022 NFL draft by the Packers, the former Nevada football star is hard at work in the offseason, improving his chemistry with his teammates, most importantly with star quarterback Jordan Love. Jordan Love, Romeo Doubs connect for spectacular touchdown at Green Bay Packers training camp During a recent training camp session, Doubs beat defensive backs Javon Bullard and Evan Williams downfield and caught a pass from Love for a huge 55-yard touchdown. A slo-mo video of that play was posted by the Packers on social media, particularly on X, leaving Green Bay and football fans buzzing. Last season, Doubs finished fourth on the team with 601 receiving yards to go along with four touchdowns on 46 receptions and 72 targets. He only played in 13 games, as he missed four games due to a concussion he suffered in a Week 12 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
