Sixteen games into his professional basketball career former Gonzaga star Drew Timme is still waiting for a phone call from the Milwaukee Bucks.

After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, Timme signed with the Milwaukee Bucks' G League team, the Wisconsin Herd. And he is making the most of his minutes this season.

Through the first 15 games of the season - the G League Showcase Cup - Timme averaged 10.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists in just over 22 minutes per game. He had several big games during the Showcase, including a 16-point, 15-rebound performance last week (Dec. 22) in a loss to the Texas Legends. He was 7-of-10 from the field and posted those numbers in just 21 minutes.

Timme's best game came on Dec. 5 when he lit up the Windy City Bulls for 30 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. His stat line was incredibly efficient: 11-of-12 from the field, 2-of-2 from the 3-point line, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal in 37 minutes.

The knocks on Timme's game range from lack of athleticism to lack of shooting range to the inability to defend on the perimeter. Timme's defenders - including Gonzaga head coach Mark Few - point to his high basketball IQ, incredible footwork and passing ability. He reminds many of former Gonzaga star Domantas Sabonis, who is thriving with the Sacramento Kings.

"Listen, I think he's an NBA player," Few said earlier this season. "He's just too good of a basketball player, too good of a guy and too good of a teammate to not have on an (NBA) roster."

Here are some of Timme's highlights from this season:
