Dwight Howard names LeBron James the GOAT if Lakers beat Timberwolves

Dwight Howard, despite being out of the NBA, constantly shares his opinions of the game today. Howard, a basketball enthusiast, is enjoying the playoffs like everyone else.

He’s also very invested in the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves series, as he won a title with the Lakers in 2020.

The Lakers have fallen into a 3-1 deficit, which does not look favorable for them. Given this situation and LeBron James‘ age, Howard shared a bold perspective on King James’ legacy if LA manages to come back and win.

“If LeBron comes back from 3-1 at 40 I don’t wanna even hear about a GOAT debate.”

To be honest, Howard is not incorrect. This would be an epic resume booster for LeBron if he can achieve such a feat.

In his 22nd year, King James continues to perform at a level that surpasses many players at their peak. Still, a 3-1 comeback isn’t an easy feat to achieve.

LeBron’s legacy is set in stone. What he has achieved is incomparable to most.

Still, the Timberwolves are a real threat to LeBron and the rest of the league. The Wolves are younger and more athletic than the Lakers, with rising star Anthony Edwards at the forefront.

Edwards won’t shy away from facing LeBron, as he is determined to establish his own legacy in the NBA and enter the GOAT debate himself.
