With the NBA's trade deadline just a week away, Zach LaVine is widely regarded as the next league star who will be on the move. From this, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst picked the star swingman as the likeliest Bull that could be dealt heading to the Feb. 8 trade point.
“It's no secret that LaVine wants to be traded and that the Bulls want to trade him. A match with the Lakers hasn't really developed, but there could be some interested teams out there. League executives have been watching the Pistons, who have expiring contracts that might appeal to Chicago.”
While trade reports and speculations continue to wallop LaVine, the Bulls stand firm in their commitment towards the All-Star – considering that he is continuing his recovery from a sprained ankle.
Last Monday, coach Billy Donovan deflected any potential trade talks occurring on both sides as LaVine remains focused on finishing his frustrating healing period.
“I haven’t talked to him about anything with the rumor piece of it,” Donovan said.
“I would just guess that with him being in the league for 10 years that these things would kind of happen. My talks with him have been more centered around his frustration with being out.”
The sudden entry of the Detroit Pistons couldn't be more of an intriguing progress in Lavine's trade front. It was reported that the Bulls are internally seeking a package of Bojan Bogdanovic and another young piece to consider dealing Zach to the Motor City.
“The Chicago Bulls and Pistons have had conversations involving Zach LaVine, league sources say. Chicago appears to be locked in on a package involving Bojan Bogdanović and one of Detroit’s blue-chippers for LaVine and his hefty contract,” the report notes.
While the league reports and the Bulls’ notion about the LaVine trade has been contradicting as it seems, we can only adopt a wait-and-see mode on what would happen in the next couple of days around the star guard's future.
