The 2024-25 NBA Playoffs have been off to a hectic start.
Matchups are competitive, and so far, there are only two teams that have advanced to the second round: West's No. 1-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder and East's No. 1-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers.
With this being said, there have been other matchups that have looked very competitive, and upsets could be in the works.
The No. 7 Golden State Warriors currently hold a 3-1 lead over the No. 2 Houston Rockets and the No. 6 Minnesota Timberwolves hold a similar lead on the No. 3 Los Angeles Lakers – two upsets that will need the higher seed to turn things around in order to advance.

This doesn't stray away from how close the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers' series has been or how well the young Detroit Pistons have looked against the experienced, but somewhat injured, New York Knicks despite the 3-1 deficit.
A matchup between the Bucks and Pacers has become less fortunate for Milwaukee with news that Damian Lillard tore his Achilles, shutting his season down and could affect his status for next season as well.
All of these matchups have led to ESPN breaking the audience record in the 11 games they have streamed on their channel.

With a long way to go before we see who will match up in the NBA Finals, which takes place in early June, excitement should fill the fanbase and insiders will be ready to pour in news for the rest of this year's playoffs.
