Evan Fournier remains in protocols, won't make Celtics debut vs. Thunder

The Boston Celtics acquired Evan Fournier at Thursday's trade deadline from the Orlando Magic, but the 28-year-old will have to a little longer to make his debut in green.

Fournier will not make his Celtics' debut against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, as he's still in health and safety protocols, the team announced:

Fournier had spent the last seven seasons of his career with the Magic before being traded to the Celtics. He's in the midst of his best season in the NBA, averaging a career-high 19.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 46.1% from the field and 38.8% from deep.

It's unclear when Fournier will be eligible to make his Boston debut. After Saturday's contest, the Celtics play again on Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans and Wednesday against the Dallas Mavericks.
