Ex-Cav Kevin Pangos Agrees To Deal With Olimpia Milano

This has been expected since April, when Carchia first reported the agreement. Now, it seems, it is a done deal.

Pangos, 29, was waived by the Cavs on Feb. 19, after signing a two-year deal prior to the season. The first year of that deal reportedly guaranteed him about $1.67 million.

Per ESPN’s Bobby Marks, Pangos agreed to a $100,000 contract buyout before being released by the Cavs.

He never found a consistent role in Cleveland, appearing in just 24 games and averaging 1.6 points and 1.3 assists. Instead of using Pangos while Darius Garland was injured, the Cavs turned to Rajon Rondo or two-way guard Brandon Goodwin. At least Rondo isn’t likely to return, and the same may be true of Goodwin.

Either way, before joining the Cavs, Pangos was widely considered one of the best all-around guards in EuroLeague, averaging 13.9 points and 6.7 assists last year with Russian club Zenit. 

He signed with CSKA Moscow after being released by Cleveland, but never joined the Russian club followed the nation’s invasion of Ukraine.

A native of Canada, Pangos went undrafted after four seasons at Gonzaga in 2015, when he was named West Coast Conference Player of the Year.
