During his 12-year career in the NBA, Patrick Beverley has had the opportunity to face off against countless high-level talents. Recently, the former Philadelphia 76ers guard took to social media to give high praise to one of the game's top superstars.
Looking back at last season, one of the most talked-about players in the NBA was Luka Doncic. Less than a year removed from leading the Dallas Mavericks to the finals, the organization made a jaw-dropping trade and sent him to the LA Lakers. In return, the Mavs received another high-caliber player in Anthony Davis.
As the offseason rolls along, an old highlight reel of Doncic from the NBA Bubble surfaced on social media. In the midst of the post making the rounds, Beverley decided to re-share. He popped up in the video, as he was playing for the LA Clippers at the time. The journeyman guard then went on to say that Doncic is the hardest player he's ever had to defend in his career.
toughest person i ever had to guard. sheesh @PatBevPod https://t.co/nxGbhDcnBx

Seeing that Beverley is a player who prides themselves on the defensive end, comments like this hold weight. Especially considering some of the players he had to match up with over the course of his career in the Western Conference. Among the names that quickly come to mind are Steph Curry and Kevin Durant.
As for Beverley, the future of his career remains up in the air. After spending last season overseas, the veteran guard teased earlier this summer that he is weighing all options and eyeing a return to the NBA in 2026.
