Kevin Garnett remains one of the most celebrated players in NBA history, with a career that spanned over two decades. Selected straight out of high school with the fifth overall pick in the 1995 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves, Garnett quickly became a transformative force in the league.
His combination of size, athleticism and defensive intensity set him apart, and he went on to become a 15-time All-Star, league MVP in 2004 and a champion with the Boston Celtics in 2008. Garnett was also named Defensive Player of the Year in 2008, solidifying his reputation as one of the most dominant two-way players of his generation. He retired in 2016 after 21 memorable seasons.
Since retiring, Garnett has remained a highly respected figure within basketball circles. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020, honoring a career defined by relentless competitiveness and unmatched passion for the game. Post-retirement, he has appeared frequently as a media voice, analyst and mentor to younger players, furthering his influence beyond the court.
On Friday, it was announced that Garnett will officially join the 3rd ASCC Show. The organizers shared the news via a post on Instagram.
“Kevin Garnett is now officially joining the 3rd ASCC SHOW! A dominant force from the moment he entered the league, Garnett delivered 21 legendary seasons in the NBA. The ASCC Show (Asian Sports and Culture Carnival) is a festival that blends sports, entertainment and community, featuring global stars and celebrating basketball’s growing influence across Asia. The convention, which will be held on Oct. 10–12, 2025 in Macau at the Venetian Cotai Expo Hall D, combines sports collectibles, trading cards and cultural events focused on the intersection of investment and sports memorabilia.
Garnett’s involvement further reflects the region’s booming interest in basketball. It continues a trend of NBA greats connecting with Asian audiences, joining the wave of former and current stars who have traveled to Asia to promote and grow the game. His presence is expected to bring even more attention to the event and help continue the rapid rise of basketball in the region.
