Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green is willing to pay at least $1 million just to get into the inner circle with LeBron James, a trending news report claimed. The report claimed that the GSW player attempted to pay off Chris Paul to take his spot as Bronny James’ godfather, in an effort to get closer to LeBron.

Over at X, account NBA Centel claimed that Green paid Paul $1 million for the latter to give up his spot as a godfather to Bronny James, citing news publication company TMZ as the source. However, upon closer look at the report, it can be easily concluded that this was nothing but a false and baseless claim.

For one, the new source was cited to be TMZ but the TMZ section on the news about Draymond Green did not have any story about him paying $1 million to Chris Paul. Neither Chris Pauls’ page has anything related to this claim, too.

Second, the social media handle of NBA Centel clearly states that it is a parody account, and the name clearly parodies the NBA Central, which is a third-party news source for everything within the NBA.

Furthermore, LeBron James and Chirs Paul have been long-time friends on and off the court, and Paul giving up his godfather rights, even for a huge amount of money, would look like a huge disrespect to his friendship with King James.

Draymond Green was chosen to be a character in this made-up story because of his supposed strong admiration towards LeBron, and how some fans imagine him wanting to be closer to LeBron for whatever purpose it may serve him. However, there has never been any real indication of this, nor there are any news talking about being a godfather to Bronny.

GSW “Needs Growth” to Utilize Draymond Green and Steph Curry Duo

During their most recent game with the San Antonio Spurs, Gold State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was faced with the reality that his plan of “saving” Steph Curry and Draymond Green may not always work.

With the GSW leading the game during the third quarter, it seemed that the strategy of having Curry and Green sit out games alternately, or at least having their court time controlled, may be working. However, the final eight minutes of the game forced Kerr to bring in the duo in an attempt to curtail the Spurs. However, it wasn’t enough.

“A disappointing loss because we had control of the game mid-third and it felt like we were about to break it open,” Kerr told reporters. “But we didn’t.”
