During his Los Angeles Lakers' charged second-half rally against the "hosting" LA Clippers last night, All-Star forward LeBron James at one point was agitating for a foul so hard in taking a baseline jumper against former Lakers teammate Russell Westbrook that he actually flipped backwards, much to the excitement of attendant Los Angeles fans:

It was a meme-able moment if ever there was one on an otherwise sleepy Wednesday evening, and the Twitter/X faithful did not disappoint with their takes.
Let's dig in.
Travonne Edwards weighed in with a reference to some 2007 cult classic cinema:

Emmy Award-winning TV host Jeff Johnson also hit us with another throwback cultural touchstone, although this time it was song lyrics:

Another fan responded to the original Edwards post, poking fun at James' advanced age (he's the oldest active player in the NBA):

Another fan weighed in with just how wild James was getting on, again, a relatively unexciting Wednesday around the league:

It's unclear whether or not we're in for an encore LeBron James performance tonight against the Washington Wizards (he may sit out on the second night of a back-to-back set of bouts), but if he does suit up, here's hoping he pulls off some more heroics against another ex-teammate in Kyle Kuzma.
