
The New Orleans Pelicans are at home on Sunday night as they host the Houston Rockets in a Western Conference matchup.
New Orleans enters Sunday’s game with a 25-50 record after losing on the road to the Toronto Raptors on Friday night.
In Friday’s loss to the Raptors, Zion Wiliamson led the way for the Pelicans as he recorded 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists while Saddiq Bey added 19 points and three rebounds of his own.
Now New Orleans will try to bounce back on Sunday as they face off against the Rockets in a tough home matchup.
On the other side, Houston enters Sunday’s contest with a 44-29 record after defeating the Memphis Grizzlies on the road on Friday night.
Kevin Durant led the way for the Rockets in Sunday’s victory as he ended the game with 25 points, six rebounds and 10 assists while Jabari Smtih Jr. recorded 21 points, 16 rebounds and four assists.
While both teams are looking to pick up a victory in Sunday night’s matchup, both squads may be without multiple key players due to injuries.
For the Rockets, they have two players listed on their injury report as they have ruled out both Fred VanVleet and Steven Adams.
Houston has ruled out VanVleet as he continues to recover from a torn ACL that he suffered in the offseason.
The Rockets have also ruled out Adams as he is set to miss the remainder of the season while recovering from ankle surgery.
On the other side, the Pelicans have three players listed on their injury report , including both Trey Murphy III and Dejounte Murray.
New Orleans has listed Murphy III as questionable due to a right ankle sprain and he is in danger of missing his third consecutive contest.
If Murphy III is sidelined once again, Yves Missi and Herb Jones could both continue to have increased roles.
The Pelicans have also Murray as questionable due to Achilles injury management and he is in danger of missing his second straight game.
Bryce McGowens has been ruled out as he remains sidelined while recovering from a right small toe fracture.
