Michael Malone may no longer be coaching but he’s still going to get paid to analyze the game.
And those games are the Western Conference finals, and they don’t involve the Denver Nuggets, the team that fired Malone with just a week left in the regular season.
Instead, the West finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves will be broadcast by ESPN. Malone will join the network’s coverage as a studio analyst, as relayed by DNVR Nuggets.
The Nuggets were eliminated by the Thunder in seven games in the second round on Sunday. Interim man David Adelman is said to have the inside track on the Denver job on a full-time basis.
As for Malone, well, he’s been linked to several openings. Not surprising, considering he was the coach of Denver’s title team just two years ago.
Now, he’ll follow along from a studio as some other team tries to repeat his feat.
