There is officially only one Bogdanovic left in the NBA.
Veteran forward Bojan Bogdanovic announced in a post to Instagram on Sunday that he is retiring as a player. Bogdanovic noted that “the moment has arrived to say goodbye to basketball” and that “I’m closing this chapter, but my love for the game remains.”

Now 36 years old, Bogdanovic began his professional career playing overseas in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Spain, Croatia, and Turkey. He then made the leap to the NBA in 2014 and became known as a walking bucket.
A true three-level scorer at his peak, Bogdanovic posted multiple seasons of 20 or more points per game in the NBA. He played for Brooklyn, Washington, Indiana, Utah, Detroit, and the New York Knicks, averaging 15.6 points on solid 46/39/86 shooting splits for his NBA career as a whole.
But Bogdanovic had not appeared in a game since Apr. 2024 due to a nagging foot injury. He noted in his retirement post that he went through “14 months of battling a foot injury, two surgeries, and countless efforts to get back on the court” before ultimately deciding to retire.
In terms of NBA salary, the Croatia native Bogdanovic earned over $142 million. He became a viral favorite on more than one occasion during his time in the league, and now he will look ahead to his next chapter after two total decades of professional play (both overseas and in the NBA).
