Former Golden State Warriors Player Signs With New Team

Alfonzo McKinnie initially went undrafted in 2015 after four seasons of college basketball (for Eastern Illinois and Green Bay).

He was able to make the NBA in 2018 and has spent five seasons in the league playing for the Toronto Raptors, Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls.

The 31-year-old most recently played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season (with the Bulls) and averaged 3.5 points and 1.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 39.3% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point range.

Last year, McKinnie was in the G League and averaged 13.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 40.5% from the field and 26.3% from the three-point range in 25 regular season games (he also appeared in 16 Showcase Cup games).

This summer, he was a free agent, and on Thursday, McKinnie officially signed with Dinamo Sassari (h/t Alberto De Roa of HoopsHype).

The best season of McKinnie's career came with the Warriors in 2018-19.

That year, he averaged 4.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest while shooting 48.7% from the field and 35.6% from the three-point range in 72 regular season games.

He also appeared in 22 NBA playoff games, as the Warriors lost to the Raptors in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

Over 182 regular season games, McKinnie had career averages of 4.0 points and 2.5 rebounds per contest while shooting 46.7% from the field and 32.6% from the three-point range (he also appeared in 24 NBA playoff games).
