Former Golden State Warriors Player Traded In G League Deal

Alfonzo McKinnie most recently played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season when he appeared in 17 games for the Chicago Bulls.

That season, he averaged 3.5 points and 1.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 39.3% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point range.

Last year, McKinnie played in the G League for the Mexico City Capitanes and had averages of 13.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 40.5% from the field in 25 regular season games (he also appeared in 16 Showcase Cup games).

This offseason, he was a free agent and signed a deal with Dinamo Sassari.

The Capitanes still had his G League rights, and on Monday, they traded his rights to the Stockton Kings.

Via The Stockton Kings: "The Stockton Kings, the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, announced today they traded the returning player rights of Trey Burke to the Mexico City Capitanes in exchange for the returning player rights to Gary Clark, Alfonso McKinnie and a first-round draft pick in the 2024 NBA G League Draft."

McKinnie has played five seasons in the NBA for the Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors.

Alfonzo McKinnie, who dropped 14 PTS on 9 shots tonight, is currently on a two-way contract.

The best season of his career came with Golden State (in 2018-19) when he averaged 4.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest while shooting 48.7% from the field and 35.6% from the three-point range in 72 regular season games.

He also appeared in 22 NBA playoff games, as the Warriors lost to the Raptors in the 2019 NBA Finals.
