Former NBA All-Star's Brother Predicts He Will Be Traded to Clippers

For the third consecutive season, the Los Angeles Clippers exited the NBA playoffs in the first round this year

That should have them once again looking to make some improvements this offseason.

They could even look to add a star to truly put themselves back into the title conversation after years of finding themselves outside of contender status.

One interesting star was recently mentioned as an option for the Clippers and it was the star's own brother who predicted he would head to LA.

During a recent episode of his "What an Experience" podcast (via NBACentral), Lonzo Ball predicted that his brother, LaMelo Ball would be traded from the Charlotte Hornets to the Clippers.

The big deterrent for the Clippers here would be Ball's health.

He has absolutely lived up to expectations when healthy. This past season, he averaged 25.2 points, 7.4 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game.

Unfortunately, he only played in 47 games. It was the third consecutive season where he missed at least 35 games.

That injury history will likely make the Clippers hesitant to bring Ball in because of their own recent history.

When they signed Kawhi Leonard and Paul George back in 2019, the moves were supposed to return them to contender status.

During the five years the two stars were together, they only made the Western Conference Finals once. That was due largely to injuries.

Both players missed at least 25 games in four of their five seasons together. Leonard missed the entirety of one of those seasons.

Leonard only managed to play 37 games this season.

Adding another player who has had trouble staying one the court might not be the way the Clippers are looking to improve this offseason.

On the court, he could be a good fit for the team. James Harden has a player option for next season, but it isn't yet clear if he'll stay with the Clippers.

If Harden leaves, the Clippers would need another star to replace him and would need a new starting point guard.

If he does return, we've seen him succeed alongside star point guards in the past with Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook. It could work again here.

The appeal for Ball is obvious. He would get a chance to play for a much better team than the awful Hornets squads he has suited up for so far in his career. He is also from the area.

It would really just come down to whether the Clippers think Ball's health is worth gambling on.
