Former NBA sharpshooter JJ Redick to have an 'expanded role' with ESPN thanks to new deal

JJ Redick played in the NBA for 17 seasons and averaged .415% shooting from three-point land. He was one of the most consistent shooters in the NBA since entering the league as the No. 11 overall pick of the Orlando Magic in 2006.

Speaking of consistency, expect Redick to play a much more consistent role as an NBA analyst for ESPN heading into the future. With the 2022-23 season right around the corner, the New York Post is reporting that ESPN has given the long-time pro a new three-year contract.

Not only is he getting some money as well as guarantees from the four-letter network, but he's also in line for an expanded role as a basketball analyst.

Awful Announcing broke down the report from The Post:

Redick was the first active NBA player to launch a podcast back in January of 2016. He retired in September of 2021 and immediately went into broadcasting and sports entertainment full-time. Notably, Redick started ThreeFourTwo Productions, which hosts several notable podcasts, including his: “The Old Man and the Three.
