‘Free Haliburton’: That Is What Charles Barkley Thinks

The Indiana Pacers took control of the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday night when they beat the Knicks 114-109 inside Madison Square Garden. The game went back and forth. The series now shifts back to Indianapolis with the tipoff coming at 8 PM on Sunday. The Pacers and John Haliburton agreed that he would not attend any games the rest of the postseason but some think he should be allowed to attend his son’s home games.

Why Did He Get Banned

The reason for all of this is because of the indecent between John Haliburton and Antetokounmpo at the end of Game 5 when the Pacers sent the Bucks home for the season. “It’s time to let Mr. Haliburton back in the building,” said Charles Barkley. “Adam, I’m asking you… Hey, my man paid his dues. He did something stupid. But he’s been punished. I’m asking you and the Indiana Pacers to let Mr. Haliburton back in the building for Games 3 and 4. Listen, he paid his dues. It shouldn’t be indefinite. He’s been punished enough, he will never do anything that stupid again.”

This is a very different tone than when he was on the “Dan Patrick Show.” The day after the indecent he said ” I would have punched him in the face!” Ain’t no way I wouldn’t have clocked him,” said Barkley. “And I ain’t trying to be no fake tough guy on television. There’s no way I wouldn’t have punched him in the face when he did what he did.” It will be interesting to see what comes of this before the game on Sunday.

 Final Thoughts

The Pacers did ban Mr. Haliburton from attending any more playoff games this postseason. I feel that he has been punished enough. The NBA and Indiana Pacers should lift the ban so he can come to support his son on this magical run in the postseason. As of right now nothing has been reported on the subject but stay tuned to Total Apex Sports for any further news.
