Georgia Tech baseball’s remarkable road trip continues to turn heads. After dominating Stanford in a three-game sweep, the Yellow Jackets have soared to second place in the ACC standings, proving they’re one of the most dangerous teams in college baseball this season.
The Yellow Jackets made history with their series sweep at Stanford, marking the first time in program history that an east-of-the-Rockies team swept a three-game series in Stanford’s Klein Field. Georgia Tech’s 18-2 victory on Sunday was their second mercy-rule win of the series, cementing their status as one of the most efficient teams in the country. With a 10-1 road record, they’ve set a new program benchmark for early-season success away from home.
The bats came alive in a big way for the Jackets. Over the weekend, Georgia Tech launched four home runs, including two grand slams by freshman Caleb Daniel and redshirt freshman Nathanael Coupet. Daniel’s grand slam in the sixth inning put the game out of reach, while Coupet’s follow-up blast in the seventh gave the Jackets an insurmountable 18-1 lead. The offense is clicking on all cylinders, with Drew Burress hitting his 12th homer of the year, extending his on-base streak to 50 games.
While the offense stole the spotlight, the pitching staff was equally impressive. Caden Spivey delivered a career-high five innings, allowing just one run on six hits. His efficient performance helped the Jackets maintain a comfortable lead throughout the game. The defense also impressed, with Tech turning six double plays over the weekend, showcasing their ability to both offensively and defensively control the game.

With this series sweep, Georgia Tech (26-6, 11-4 ACC) is on fire. They’ve leapfrogged Florida State and now sit just behind Clemson in the ACC standings. The road to an ACC title is wide open, and the Yellow Jackets are looking every bit the part of a championship contender.
