In the wake of veteran big man Brook Lopez leaving the Milwaukee Bucks, superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has said farewell to one of his longest-tenured teammates.
The pair played seven seasons together and lifted the Larry O’Brien Trophy together in 2021, but with Lopez now on his way to join the Los Angeles Clippers, Antetokounmpo has said his goodbyes and voiced his appreciation for the big man.
After Milwaukee Bucks free-agent center Brook Lopez signed a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, meaning he would leave the team after seven seasons, Milwaukee star Giannis Antetokounmpo bid farewell to his longtime teammate.

The dinosaur emoji Antetokounmpo used in the post refers to Lopez’s good luck charm, a small toy of the "Toy Story" character Rex that he touches before games.
During their many years together, Antetokounmpo and Lopez were a defensive hazard for many teams, using their length and size to control the paint. For years, Lopez was a good complement to Antetokounmpo’s game, allowing the Greek Freak space to drive the ball toward the basket while the man nicknamed "Splash Mountain" could stay on the perimeter for catch-and-shoot opportunities.
Although the partnership, as well as the entire team, has declined in recent times, Lopez still deserves a lot of appreciation from the fan base.
Antetokounmpo also feels that Lopez should have his jersey retired. Antetokounmpo went as far as to say it 1 million percent should be retired.

Jersey retirement is always a contentious topic among fans, and the criteria for such can wildly differ depending on who you ask. That being said, when the time is right, Antetokounmpo might be a good person to ask if you were the Bucks front office.
Although Lopez had previous stops in New Jersey and Los Angeles before landing in Milwaukee, the best years of his career came in the city. As one of the most integral pieces of the 2021 championship team, perhaps there is some merit to retiring his No. 11.
