Giannis Antetokounmpo dominates EuroBasket before leaving with ankle injury

Giannis Antetokounmpo shined in Greece's 90-69 win over Estonia at EuroBasket 2022, scoring 25 points on 9-of-10 shooting before exiting with an ankle injury early in the second half.

Greece head coach Dimitris Itoudis said after the win that Antetokounmpo's ankle was "all good," according to SPORT24's Harris Stavrou. Greece had a sizable lead when Antetokounmpo left the game.

The Bucks star was dominant in just over 19 minutes of action, adding five rebounds, four assists and a steal. He led all scorers despite leaving the game early, shooting 90 percent from the field while the rest of the Greek national team shot 42 percent.

Antetokounmpo was dominant against Ukraine on Tuesday, erupting for 41 points on 13-of-18 shooting. He's now averaging 29.5 points per game at EuroBasket.

While the ankle injury isn't a long-term concern, all eyes will be on Antetokounmpo's status ahead of the bracket stage of the tournament. Greece is set to face Czech Republic in the Round of 16 on Sunday. Antetokounmpo is aiming to lead Greece to its first EuroBasket medal since 2009.
