Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future remained one of the hottest topics of the NBA offseason, and speculation about a possible trade still lingers. The New York Knicks were the team most often linked to the Milwaukee Bucks star, and on Tuesday night, they met at the Fiserv Forum. Antetokounmpo guided Milwaukee to a 121-111 triumph, and following the game, he was asked if all the talk surrounding his future had affected his focus.
“I don’t have time [for that]. I’m not going to lie to you. I have four kids. I have a seven-month-old, two-year-old, four-year-old old and five-year old. So, brother, I don’t have time to read. Even if I wanted to pay attention to stuff like that, my life don’t let me,” Antetokounmpo said during his post-game interview.
Q @IanBegley "Does that become distraction…when focus of NBA world [is Knicks trade buzz]?"

“I have four little gremlins that they running around. And I have my craft that I gotta improve, and then I gotta lead the team, and then I’ve got other things. I got my wife, I got my mother, I got my brothers, I gotta go to church. Man, I ain’t got time for all that,” the Greek Freak continued.
Antetokounmpo has shown no signs of being distracted by the ongoing trade chatter. The 30-year-old powered through the Knicks with 37 points on 16-of-22 shooting, adding eight rebounds, seven assists, a steal, and two blocks. New York couldn’t find an answer for him, though there’s a chance they might not have to face that challenge next season.
“So I’m being very, very honest with you, I just love playing basketball,” the Bucks superstar added. “And I try to speak on the court.”
If the Bucks fall short this season, there’s a real possibility Antetokounmpo could ask to move on. He has often said he feels comfortable in Milwaukee, but he’s also made it clear that comfort isn’t a priority for him. In his own words, he performs his best when he’s outside that comfort zone.
Antetokounmpo has made it clear that winning comes before everything else, and after three consecutive first-round eliminations, the Bucks will likely need a serious postseason push in 2026 to convince him to stay. Whether they can deliver remains to be seen, but their early-season form offers some encouragement.
