Giannis Antetokounmpo Gets Honest About New York Knicks Rumors

There are still teams who eagerly await the day when Giannis Antetokounmpo may request a trade away from the Milwaukee Bucks. The New York Knicks should be near the top of that list.

The Knicks are being given a golden opportunity for the 2025-26 season. After only falling a few wins short of an NBA Finals appearance in the 2025 NBA Playoffs, injuries to some of the best teams in the conference have opened the door for New York to step in as top dogs.

As currently constructed, the Knicks should already be the favorites to come out of the Eastern Conference in 2025-26. However, adding Antetokounmpo into the mix would undoubtedly put them over the top as the best team in the East.

The money would be fairly simple to navigate for the Knicks. New York can aim for a package around Karl-Anthony Towns to get the deal done. They could likewise try to make a trade work around OG Anunoby as the headliner going back the other way, along with other pieces.

What does Antetokounmpo think of New York? The Bucks superstar opened up about it with IShowSpeed, of all people. The Greek Freak mentioned the people around him have had conversation about The Big Apple with him.

Antetokounmpo said, "A lot of people have tried to convince me, tried to convince me to go there and play there and stuff."

When the two-time MVP was questioned about whether he'd be staying in Milwaukee, Giannis gave a disappointing answer to Knicks fans. However, for those looking to read between the lines, it was not the most convincing of responses.

"Probably, we'll see," Antetokounmpo said about remaining with the Bucks.

Is that enough to get the mock trades started for Knicks fans? Depending on who you are, it just might be.
