Patrick Beverley has carved out a reputation as one of the NBA’s grittiest competitors since being drafted in 2009 by the Los Angeles Lakers at No. 42 overall. After being selected, Beverley first built his game overseas in Ukraine, Greece, and Russia before returning to the league in 2013. He went on to become a defensive spark plug for teams like the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, and Minnesota Timberwolves, with later stints for the Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers, and Milwaukee Bucks.

Throughout his career, Beverley made his mark on the defensive end — he’s been named to the NBA’s All-Defensive Team three times, including First-Team All-Defense honors in 2017. Most recently, he spent the 2024-25 season playing overseas for Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel, where he averaged 9.4 points, 3.4 assists, and 3.3 rebounds in nine regular season games before parting ways with the club in February.

Since exiting the team, Beverley has teased a possible NBA comeback, recently hinting on X that he is weighing his options and will definitely play in the league next season.

While not much has been said of his return to the NBA, Beverley had more personal news to celebrate this week, announcing his engagement to his girlfriend on Instagram, with the caption: “Forever… She Said Yes ”

The post drew warm reactions from across the basketball world — including a three-word comment from Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, who wrote simply: “Aaawwww so cute ”

Beverley and Antetokounmpo were teammates in Milwaukee during the 2023-24 campaign. In his final NBA season, he averaged 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game

It remains to be seen if Beverley could make a return to the league and what teams would be interested in adding him to their roster. If in form, the 37-year-old could play a solid bench role on a contending team and his locker room presence could be greatly utilized.
