Giannis Antetokounmpo Quietly Discussed Potential Miami Future With a Heat Superstar

Have we seen the last of Giannis Antetokounmpo in a Milwaukee Bucks jersey? Well-known NBA Insider Marc Spears definitely thinks so. The Bucks know that they have inarguably the biggest named star that’s available ahead of the trade deadline. For teams salivating for Giannis’ services, expect that his price will be massive.

According to multiple reports, Antetokounmpo has three teams on his wish list: Miami, New York, and Toronto. While his interest in New York has been known for a while, Miami and Toronto are the newer players here. Interestingly, a new bombshell suggests that the two-time league MVP has already talked to a particular Heat player about teaming up.

“The Raptors are willing to part ways with anyone on the roster to get Antetokounmpo except for Brandon Ingram and Scottie Barnes, sources said. Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Miami star Bam Adebayo have the same agent, Alex Saratsis of Octagon. Antetokounmpo and Adebayo have spoken about playing together in South Beach,” according to a report from Grant Afseth.

Would that be considered tampering if Giannis and Bam spoke privately? Probably yes. But with communication so easy nowadays, reports like these won’t surprise us anymore. There’s no doubt that if Miami lands Antetokounmpo, they would have the best frontcourt in basketball.

Bucks Are Getting Hit With Reality On Giannis’ Future

Giannis Antetokounmpo has a $62.8 million player option in 2027. All signs point to him not picking that up. He’s still in the middle of his prime athletic years and will command a hefty extension very soon.

Will that be with the Bucks? Well, maybe not. The team is already open to heading into a new direction. “Milwaukee knows the writing is on the wall. There are definitely members of that Milwaukee brain trust who have accepted and understood the Bucks have just gone and depleted their draft capital stash,” according to a report by Jake Fischer.

It’s important to note that Milwaukee has a pick in this year’s loaded class. Should they tank, it won’t surprise if they land a top-three pick in June. They may prefer that path over trying to convince Giannis to stay.
