Giannis Antetokounmpo scores career-high in 'boring' game vs. Wizards

Giannis Antetokounmpo wants his game to be boring. That's not happening when he's putting up 55 points.

Giannis scored a career-high 55 points in a win over Washington, which was two points shy of Michael Redd's franchise record. He shot 20-33 from the floor, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished seven assists, and even made 15 of his 16 free throws.

It was Antetokounmpo's third straight game with at least 40 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists, a feat only achieved by three other players: Russell Westbrook, Elgin Baylor (twice), and Wilt Chamberlain. Anytime a player's feat is compared to Wilt Chamberlain, it's clearly something special.

After the game, Anteotokounmpo told reporters he wanted these stunning performances to become so regular from him that people are "bored" by them.

"I want to get in a position that my game is boring. I just do what I do and people don't talk about it because it becomes boring -- I do it every single night," he said. Then Antetokounmpo clarified, "I don't get bored. The greats -- the best players -- never get bored. They go out there and they always give their best any given night."

According to his significant other, Antetokounmpo is so boring that he doesn't get on House of Highlights because he doesn't dunk enough. His most thrilling play Tuesday night have have been a dunk that was missed.

His successful windmill dunk wasn't very boring either.

And Antetokounmpo's first dunk of 2023 also helped ruin his "boring" plan.

Ultimately, Antetokounmpo is going to have to stick to layups if he wants to be truly boring. Unfortunately for his wish to have no one talk about him, House of Highlights posted the footage of his 55-point effort.

His significant other will be thrilled, and so will Bucks fans.
