Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has already stacked up plenty of accomplishments — two MVPs, a championship, a Finals MVP, a Defensive Player of the Year award.
But he’s not satisfied.
“Like every basketball player, every athlete, you start your career with a quest of what you want to accomplish,” he said in an interview shared by HoopsHype. “I’ve accomplished everything I’ve put my mind to. But now I just want more.
“I want to win another championship. I want to win another medal for the national team. Legacy is very important for me.”
That legacy, he says, is built “step by step, practice by practice, game by game, season by season.”
Giannis also talked about his evolving role with the Bucks.
“That’s where I’m at my best,” he said of having the ball in his hands. “I’m able to make plays for myself and my teammates. I know I’ve got to play fast. I’m ready for that.”
Now entering his 13th NBA season, Antetokounmpo said his goal is to keep playing at a high level deep into his 30s.
“If I get to 36, I think I’ll still be able to play at a high level because I take good care of my body,” he said. “After that, we’ll see. If we can go, we’ll go. If not, we’re disappearing on an island in Greece.”
